Earlier last week, news broke that famous actor Bruce Willis was quitting acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. Industry and the world rallied around die hard Star to give their support.
One of the people who showed love to Willis was his opponent Kevin Smith who rescinded his earlier remarks and offered his best wishes. The two worked together in the 2010 movie cop outside. It is said that Willis hated Smith so much that he refused to do a promotional shoot and had to be portrayed on movie posters. Here’s what we know about their fateful friendship.
‘Cop Out’ is an action comedy starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan
cop outside Focuses on two detectives, Jimmy and Paul, whose failure to apprehend a suspect (endangering civilians) leaves them both unpaid. Jamie’s daughter is getting married, but the wedding costs $50,000. While her stepfather offers to pay for it, Jamie is determined not to give him the chance.
He vows to bring the money and goes to sell his baseball card. The shop is robbed and the thief escapes with the card. Jimmy and Paul discover that the thief is planning a robbery that night. They installed the place, and although they arrested him, he actually sold the car to a drug dealer.
They approach the drug dealer who gives them one condition: that they return his stolen car. Meanwhile, Paul’s wife was having an affair, and Paul later learned that she had arranged the whole thing because he didn’t trust her.
Jimmy rescues the robber on bail to get the card out of the drug dealer’s house, but he falls and hits his head hard. This forces Jimmy to do it himself. When he got home, the merchant’s gang surrounded him. The drug dealer is also holding a woman hostage. After killing the gang members, the two detectives kill the merchant.
Unfortunately for Jimmy, the bullet pierced his card which the dealer had in his shirt pocket. With nothing to sell, Jamie lets his daughter’s stepfather pay for the wedding. His ex-wife convinces him to let Roy walk Ava down the aisle with him, but he points the gun at Roy discreetly when the time comes.

Rumors spread that things weren’t great during filming cop outside. Collider reported that Smith and Willis were constantly having problems while filming. In an interview on Marc Maron’s podcast, Smith said, “Not one man will even sit down to shoot a poster,” hinting at Willis.
When asked Maroon cop outside Smith, director to give up a name, said, “Everyone knows who he is. Put it like this, do you really remember the funny guy in the movie? It’s not him. It’s a king’s dream. Tracy Morgan, I was going to lie in traffic for.” Smith also credited Morgan with getting it through making the film without compromising himself or someone else.
When Smith learned of Willis’ diagnosis, he took to Twitter to share his support and take back his harsh comments about the actor.
He said, “Long before any of the cop outside Stuff, I was a big fan of Bruce Willis – so it’s really sad to read. He loved acting and singing and losing that must have been devastating for him. I feel like an idiot for my petty complaints from 2010. So sorry for BW and his family.”
