Dolores S. “Del” (Fagnant) Julie, 91, formerly of Woonsocket, died peacefully on Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her children.
It was sponsored by the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. She was the wife of the late Julian “Reed” Julie. They married on August 19, 1950, and enjoyed life together for over 59 years.
Born in Woonsocket on September 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Donut and Yvonne (Gerard) Fagnant and sister of the late Norman Fagnant.
She has lived in Woonsocket for most of her life, except for the past four years. She spent three years in Lutz, Florida, with her daughter Diane, and one year in Jacksonville, Florida, at Discovery Village ALF near her daughter Sandra.
Dell has worked in accounting at Lamuru Oil for 35 years. She was a member of the Woonsocket Senior Centre, having volunteered there for over 13 years, and a member of St. Joseph Seniors and Women’s Sodality. She spent over 20 years as a bingo worker at St. Joseph’s Church.
Red and Del both love to dance and have spent many happy hours over the years in square dancing, line dancing, ballroom dancing, round dancing and French quads. In October 2002, they were named Woonsocket’s Senior Nationals of the Year and appeared at the Autumnfest Parade.
They traveled extensively with their square dance and senior groups. For many years, Reed and Dale shared special roles as Santa and Mrs. Claus. In December 2001, they drove down Main Street on a firetruck to start their season as Santa on Main Street Santa House. Dale also loves to bake. Her grandchildren’s favorite were the chocolate chip cookies! Dell has enjoyed a lifetime of love with her family and friends.
She is survived by her five children, Roger Jolly and his wife, Sharon of Milford, Virginia, Robert N. .
Her funeral service will be held in Florida on Saturday, June 11, at 11 a.m., at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 17512 Lakeshore Road, Lutz, FL. 33558.
Her funeral service will be held in Rhode Island on Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1200 Mindon Road, Wonsocket, RI. She will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery, 261 West Wrentham Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864.
