A new week brings more new movies to stream, including one that many have hailed as one of the best films of the year so far.
The big release this week is Morbius, a Sony Marvel movie that’s part of the Venom-verse. Jared Leto plays a doctor who basically turns into a vampire.
Other new movies on our list include two romantic comedies and the Disney reboot Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, which surprised us by showing up…kind of well?
Let’s break down the six movies you should watch this week. And be sure to check out the new premiere movie on Netflix.
Let’s get this out of the way: Morbius is not a good movie. In fact, it’s one of the worst Marvel movies ever made on Rotten Tomatoes, with an embarrassing 16% rating (which still puts it on 2015’s Fantastic Four and 2005’s Elektra). Critics have described Morbius as “chaotic,” “incomprehensible,” and “weak in the story.”
Then again, you’re probably the type who enjoys train wreck entertainment. And even in the dismal reviews, Jared Leto garnered some praise for his portrayal of the main character. Dr. Michael Morbius makes a desperate attempt to cure his rare blood disease, but it goes wrong and infects him with a vampire. Thanks to his supernatural abilities, he fights the darkness within him.

Director Choi Jin-Seong explores the prevalence of these cybercrimes, how their digital anonymity allowed their occurrence and the impact on the victims, whose brave testimony helped bring down the Nth Room.

Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers (Disney Plus)
A lot of the reboots/revivals are horrible, they weren’t meant to be made and, in some cases, overshadow the original. But we want to watch Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers online because it looks really good. Showcasing the best comedic talent, the film was directed by Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer and has a funny trailer.
It is a sequel/continuation set 30 years after the end of the animated series. Chip (John Mulaney) and Dale (Andy Samberg) are isolated and live average lives in a world where humans and cartoon characters mingle. Chip works as an insurance salesman, while Dell undergoes a CGI makeover and relives his glory days on the convention circuit. When their former classmate mysteriously disappears, they reunite to save their friend – and their friendship.

Instead, it’s a standalone movie starring Michelle Yeoh as a laundry owner who is dragged into a crazy adventure involving parallel facts. Everything Everywhere at once may also refer to a mixture of many genres and tones, from Hong Kong martial arts films to science fiction to comedy.
